I just tried a wine tasting tour! Wherever you are travelling in the world, it’s great to meet and interact with locals to better understand the local way of life. This is one of the aims of the social company “Paris par rues méconnues”. It offers a lot of touristic tours in the deepest Paris and one is dedicated to the wine! It’s a must do in the wine country capital!
Depending on your tastes, the tour can start from several places in Paris. The one I tried was departing from the « Métro temple » and led by Anne. First of all, she gave us a lot of historical anecdotes about the district. For example, we learnt that the Temple jail in which Marie-Antoinette & Louis XVI were imprisoned is now the actual city hall of the 3rd Parisian district. We ended the tour with a stop at the « Marché des enfants rouges » in a wine shop called « BiboVino ». The place is cosy & warm : ideal after the cold walking tour! The tasting was really complete as we tasted the 3 wine colors : first a white one, followed by a pink one and a red one ! We first learnt the best way to savor wines. The oenologist showed us on french maps where the wines came from : for example the Muscadet in the « Pays du Vignoble Nantais ». We also took the time to smell the wines, to look into our memories the flavour they were referring to us, and the emotions they provided!
We also enjoyed some french charcuteries together with some french cheeses. The distinctive feature of « BiboVino » is to offer exceptional wines in « bibs » which keep the quality of wines.
Also, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann juste launched a Wine & Cheese tasting with a sommelier who will introduce to you 4 French wines paired with local cheese in the new cosy workshop area : « l’Appartement ». Have a try!
I wish you will enjoy this wine tour as much as me! 🍷And I’m sure you will!
