I have just discoved “The Musée de la Vie romantique” in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Its garden is bucolic and it is the perfect place for a tea time far from the Parisian madness!
A romantic garden at the foot of Montmartre hill
The musem is ideally located at 16 rue Chaptal and it is a historical monument as it was built in 1830. The nearest stations are Pigalle, Blanche, Saint- Georges, and Liège. The place is open daily except Monday. Its garden is infinitely bucolic, quiet and really green with a tea house that has been taken over from « Rose Bakery ».
The perfect tea-time
On the menu of pleasures you can enjoy salty or sweet breaks. For a short lunch you can choose boiled eggs (7,50 €), quiche and green salad (11 €), vegetable salad (12,50 €) and for tea-time : scone (3,50 €), fruit tart ( € 5.50), served with orange juice (€ 6) or lemonade (€ 4.50). This is the perfect place for à confidential stop 😉
A next stop at “Le Mur des Je t’aime”
The “I Love You » wall (le Mur des Je t’aime) is in a small garden with “I Love You” written 311 times in 250 languages. It is located a few steps from the museum, at the Abbesse metro station. You have to pass by this wall to continue your romantic afternoon.
